Why I built DailyGoal
Nick Petalas, founder of DailyGoal
I'm Nick Petalas, a software engineer based in London and the founder of DailyGoal.
Before DailyGoal, I logged food in MyFitnessPal and kept my training and body weight in Google Sheets. Each did its job, but they were separate, and they lacked some features I wanted.
So I built the app I was looking for: food, workouts, and body trends in one clean app, with the features I needed.
What that means in the app
- Daily calorie and macro targets
- Food search and barcode scanning, with saved meals
- Workout templates, live logging, and rest timers
- Weight, body fat, and steps with smoothed trends
- Apple Health sync
- Optional AI capture that drafts entries for you to review before saving
- A REST API and MCP server for your own DailyGoal data
Workouts and API access are part of Pro. See pricing for what Free includes.
